We Need Good Policies at First

education
If in an analysis of English curriculum tells about an ideal situation which can make development of curriculum runs well, In Indonesia, it is still very hard to reach the ideal situation. In social, project, institutional, teacher, adoption, until learner factors, all of them are in a bed condition. It is very hard to only maximize an old curriculum in our education, even to develop a new curriculum which is centered on school autonomous. All of the problems are related to the educational policies of our government.
Although UU BHP has been omitted by Court of Constitution (MK) several days ago, commercialization of education is still to be big threat for our education. UU BHP got so many refusals from academicians such as Professors of education and public policies, lecturers, teachers, until students. In BHP, school or other education institutions are same as a company. The fundamental of holding education is only looking for profit.  School or other education institutions have their autonomous in deciding study cost for the students. It is very frighten the poor people destiny.

The other threats are International Standard School (SBI) and International Standard Operation (SBI). Several schools that have name SBI or even still a planning (RSBI) have raised their study cost for their student. If the condition turns accrue, Indonesian young generations who can get a good quality education are only lucky generation who came from rich family. Poor generations will only be able to educate in low quality school although the generation are intelligence. After that, ISO will press school management as high quality as international standard says. In some schools, especially in the village or out of java, they will get a lot of obstacles to reach the standard. Furthermore, the schools will fail to develop their management as their needs.
The policies actually have good motivation. But, the government often imports a system without any adoption in order to match with this country condition. It is important to government to read the book in the adoption point. Our government some time needs more education about how to adopt a foreign system because our government really often to make failures and mistakes in managing our education. The government should observe Indonesian education needs as shown in this book.
After policies made by government are appropriate with the education condition, the government should give a wide autonomous to the academician to stake out our education. If the conditions happen, we can do the situational analysis as the book drawn.

Substitution: A Grammatical Cohesion

Grammatical Cohesion According to Halliday and Hasan (1976: 4), cohesion occurs when the interpretation of some elements in the discourse is dependent on that of another. It concludes that the one element presupposes the other. The element cannot be effectively decoded except by recourse to it. Moreover, the basic concept of it is a semantic one. It refers to relations of meaning that exists within the text. So, when this happens, a relation of cohesion is set up, and the two elements, the presupposing and the presupposed, are thereby integrated into a text. Halliday and Hasan (1976: 39) classify grammatical cohesion into reference, substitution, ellipsis and conjunction. Substitution Substitution is a relation between linguistic items, such as words or phrases or in the other word, it is a relation on the lexico-grammatical level, the level of grammar and vocabulary, or linguistic form. It is also usually as relation in the wording rather than in the meaning. The criterion is the gram

Lexical Cohesion in Discourse Analysis

Lexical Cohesion Lexical cohesion comes about through the selection of items that are related in some way to those that have gone before (Halliday, 1985: 310). Types of lexical cohesion are repetition, synonymy and collocation. Furthermore, Halliday and Hasan (1976: 288) divide types of lexical cohesion into reiteration (repetition, synonymy or near-synonym, superordinate and general word) and collocation.

Ellipsis in Discourse Analysis

The essential characteristic of ellipsis is something that is present in the selection of underlying (systematic) option that omitted in the structure. According to Halliday and Hasan (1976: 143), ellipsis can be regarded as substitution by zero. It is divided into three kinds, namely nominal ellipsis, verbal ellipsis, and clausal ellipsis. 1)         Nominal Ellipsis Nominal ellipsis means the ellipsis within the nominal group or the common noun that may be omitted and the function of head taken on by one of other elements (deictic, numerative, epithet or classifier). The deictic is normally a determiner, the numerative is a numeral or other quantifier, the epithet is an adjective and the classifier is a noun. According to Hassan and Halliday, this is more frequently a deictic or a numeral than epithet or classifier. The most characteristic instances of ellipsis, therefore are those with deictic or numerative as head.
